Love this sculpted head on the 1897 Mercantile Chambers on Bothwell Street in central Glasgow, especially the fishy hair style!

I love this statue of Mercury by Francis Derwent Wood sitting in a baldacchino (a canopy over an alter or throne) above the entrance to the 1897 Mercantile Chambers on Bothwell Street in Glasgow.

Mercury, the Roman god of commerce, merchants, travellers and thieves, is depicted sitting on a throne made of a globe combined with sailing ships and sea monsters, a reference to Glasgow's maritime mercantile history.
