The Acclaimed was two singles guys together by TK because he needed a midcard tag team job act. He never planned for them to get over, but they did organically, he rode the wave, they became a top act, and like most acts who don't revitalize themselves, petered out as crowd got bored with them.
So was the Acclaimed just a gimmick with a shelf life or did something go wrong? I can’t tell what went wrong?

Dustin Rhodes was willing to get breast implants just to fully commit to being Goldust but these guys who hem and haw and whinge and whine nonstop don’t have half the courage or resolve of midcard professional wrestlers
so it turns out the daily wire people looked into pretending to be women to get into women's sports leagues but found out they couldn't because regulations required them to be on hormones and none of the cis men were willing to do that

AEW doesnt get enough credit for its recent signings. Starting with Ricochet, it's been all quality additions like Kevin Knight, Speedball, Megan Bayne & Josh Alexander. As a bonus, they let the malcontents find their rightful place in the WWE midcard.
