I had a splendid time on Saturday with @dj-greg-wilson.bsky.social at the launch for the new James Hamilton book, after which I reconstructed a set from early 1984, detouring into a late 1983 set when he played 24 electro-funk records in 24 minutes. Here's the mix: www.mixcloud.com/miketd/james...

Here's a recording of the set - track listing is in the description. www.mixcloud.com/miketd/funk-...

This week's random month megamix is from July 1981.

Phyllis Hyman, Hi-Gloss, Rahmlee, Central Line, Unlimited Touch, Level 42, Genji Sawai & Bacon Egg, Pleasure, Spaces, Dave Valentin, Lee Oskar, Eddie Russ, Black Slate, Steve Winwood, Tom Tom Club... etc...

I'm publishing weekly megamixes taken from random months between 1975 and 1989, featuring tunes that were reviewed by James Hamilton in Record Mirror during each month. So far I've done Feb 83, Sep 78 & Nov 86. Full track listings are in the comments for each mix.

Here's the set which I played at @rnrbook-club.bsky.social on Friday night: a recreation of James Hamilton's set at Gullivers on 18th Aug 1979. Watching the dancers becoming immersed in James's selections was an extraordinarily joyful and moving experience.

Here's a marathon megamix of my favourite new housey dance tunes from the first half of 2026, curated and blended by my own fair hands.

Every first Friday in the month, in Knaresborough (North Yorkshire), I run a house night called Peanut Butter (so named because it's creamy, crunchy and cheese-free, geddit?) I'll be back on the decks tomorrow. This is a recording of what I played last month: www.mixcloud.com/miketd/peanu...

...in particular randomly selected months. All track listings are in the ALT text for each image.
