Doesn't this mean that the U.S. has switched sides and can now be considered our* "enemy"?

Wouldn't it be interesting, and revealing, if when a House Armed Services Committee member begins their dialog with Hegseth they first announce how much taxpayer money is spent on the militay industrial complex in their district and state?

What exactly does Assad think Trump is going to do now? Like I get that other world leaders are meeting with Trump and it isn't entirely clear who is running foreign policy right now but Trump cannot order the militay to bomb Syrian rebels until Jan 20 at noon.
