My children (4 & 6) asked me to fix a broken TV this weekend while visiting family for the holiday.

We are on a 10 day vacation in AZ with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Both got sick 2 days in and we have 4 days to go. I remember vacations being a lot more relaxing (same amount of puking though).

I have learned to tune out whats happening in the present and instead focus on what happened in the past...because it just repeats over and over. Highly recommend "Storm Before The Storm" by @mikeduncan.bsky.social to gain perspective in an easy to read way.

My daughter got brave this trip and spent 4 hours in the wave pool.

PROS: proud of her overcoming her fears of getting wet and not needing to be held the whole time.

CONS: my body is raw like a sun burn from having to sit on the pool floor all day to catch her.

My achilles heel is I am too ambitious as a dad. We are at a Great Wolf Lodge with a 1 & 3 year old and all they want/can do is go to the kiddie pool. Could have just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express SMH
