#milliput
had my first time using milliput on minis, I say I did better on the fur texture than I did for fabric or skin

Hoping and praying that milliput will work here as well...

Milliput?

Last night I applied milliput to the gaps/seams of the secondary hull assembly. This morning I sanded it. #StarTrek #Enterprise #GalaxyClass #FederationStarship #ScaleModels #MKMModelwerx

Milliput is very difficult to use for fine detail, it struggles to hold onto the surface. The fabric looks okay, given the material.

I prefer Tamiya QuickType for this.

Glued the battle bridge to the top of the neck then applied milliput to the gaps where it meets the spine. #StarTrek #Enterprise #GalaxyClass #FederationStarship #ScaleModels #MKMModelwerx

absolutely brimful of dried superglue and milliput and snapped wire, that particular tail socket, as i recall. Nowadays i'd have at it with the cordless drill but, back then, a real scunner

So um for the first time ever I finally bit the bullet and bought some milliput to repair this Gremlins Christmas tree hanger for a relative. I'll see about painting him soon.

Milliput applied to the gaps/seams on the neck. Photoetch trench covers have been glued to each pylon to hide the wires. Another light test. #StarTrek #Enterprise #GalaxyClass #FederationStarship #ScaleModels #MKMModelwerx

FF17 Citadel Minotaur from
1979 paint stripped, now with some milliput to extend the puddle base out with (hopefully) a suitably fitting floor surface

Could not get all the enamel paint off, but I did not want to leave it any longer

I've only used "milliput fine white" so far but there are cheaper brands that come in larger amounts. it's basically a two part putty that you have you mix like normal epoxy, except it's clay. when you see people making little guys from white clay but not putting them in a kiln, that's that stuff 🙂

you can! in fact you can mix pretty much any of these epoxy butties together for different properties (hence the earlier mention of plasticine) - GS + milliput gives a tougher material than GS alone, and is somewhat easier to work with

No, it's a model but (and here's the thing!) a model on a kids shelf so probably will be knocked about a little.
I think you can mix the yellow/blue stuff with milliput to get the best of both worlds?

I thought milliput was really brittle so I avoided it but if you think it's OK I'll try that. I've got some epoxy stuff that has blue and yellow that mixes together but it was pretty expensive for a tiny amount.

Today's hobby time was more preparation. I printed this Baba Yaga house quite a long time ago and for whatever reason it sat next to the printer until now. It printed with some odd lines in it (possibly related to drain holes) so it needed a bit of gap filling love.

Also go vote!

Ogre sculpts from several years ago.
I had a whole bunch of leftover Mantic arms, and decided to make my own bodies for them. They match the dimensions, and share some stylistic elements.

No good ones I know of, I usually make my own with tinfoil, twigs and roots (baked in the oven to kill mold) and epoxy (magic sculpt, milliput yellow/grey or apoxie) oven baked clay to merge them together with some rough rags pressed in to add bark texture.

Ehh ok so milliput isn't the solution to the broken ball joint problem...

...only other solution to that is to get those cheap glue dots, bunch one up and just take it in and out of the hand as needed.

I was just wondering myself what happened with this :) No worries!

For ease of availability and use, then, I'd suggest standard Milliput. Cheap, plenty of working time, smooths with water, can be sanded and carved after cure, air dries but can be sped up with local heat.

Might come back and try my hand at some milliput pelts for the shoulders

There's still a few days left in #Spooktober2026, so I figured I had time to build and prep this zombie dragon from Archon Studio for the undead army.

Base it came with was WAY too small. Built a larger one w/ rocks, sprues, milliput, & Dead Animal Bits.

Milliput applied around the accurate parts and will be sanded smooth tomorrow. #StarTrek #Enterprise #GalaxyClass #FederationStarship #ScaleModels #MKMModelwerx
