Is diffuse realtime ray-traced global illumination a huge jump? Hell yeah, it is! Do I think it's a generational leap, per se? No, because the PS5 and Series X can do signed distance field RTGI at 60FPS with good-looking reconstruction in stuff like Fortnite (ugh) and it looks really good

its best for small reflective objects where you want to give the impression of reflectivity cheaply, i.e. shiny doorknobs, knives & forks, swords, etc. instead of a cubemap you just use the screen to represent the scene

NOT for large reflective mirrorlike surfaces like windows, mirrors and water!!

Chrysalis, though, is probably my favorite of the two figures. They did an AMAZING job capturing her eerie otherworldliness.

Also nice to get another figure with a skin tone darker than "bioluminescent". Chryssy's even darker than Luna!

Hard to make green makeup look good, but Chrysalis pulls it off. Excellent textures on her outfit; the top (and her boots) have a satin finish that really sells the leather-like appearance, and her pants and sleeves are a mirrorlike gloss. Really helps break up what is, ultimately, an all-black ensemble. It doesn't come across in a lot of photos, but her belt is actually translucent green with a pearlescent blue-green shade. Gives it a creepy alien vibe that's entirely appropriate to the source character! Where Cadance has a shiny pearlescent finish to her hair, Chrysalis' is all flat and matte, which totally nails the dank and lank feel (positive) of her Equestrian form's mane. They got across her legs' swiss-cheese holes by giving her long sleeves and flared pant legs, then filling them full of holes. There's an excellent hand-shape under her sleeve here, complete with knuckles. Those flared pants legs I was talking about. The holes show that her big ol' chunky platform-heel Frankenstein shoes are actually tall leather boots, and goodness knows I'm a fan of THOSE. A classic monster touch for a classy monster lady. Her Changeling brood is represented in the transparent dark-blue base's motif. Do she got a booty? She doooooooooooooooooooooo Goodness, they bought out the whole damn bakery!

The PG5 uses a high-heat, high-intensity flash of light to create a master stencil from a black ink photocopy or illustration onto specialized film. I used a previous Risograph print of mine as my clipart, backed by screentone dots, with some text written with the Riso pen that was included
