Doesn't he misquote a movie quote all the time too, and him misquoting the line is exactly how Trevor found out that he was alive?

Misquoting them doesn’t really help your point. The ‘at risk of’ being quite key.

No, that was a bad-faith misquoting and manipulation by most rightwing media

Surprise surprise in the Champions League. Nick Walsh gives a penalty that everyone's reaction in the Goals Show studio is "No way. Never."

Or maybe they were misquoting The Wild Rover.

I'm sorry, I'm watching Rizzoli and Isles again and Maura's boyfriend (the fourth one who didn't turn out to be a psychopaths—YET) and she's having this whole episode where she's trying to be the "cool person" to her divorced bf's teenage daughter by misquoting katy perry and like, fuck.

I am now singing and misquoting an unpopular '80s-era Neil Young song to myself.

Don't you hope that one day people will stop the misquoting by saying "I think, therefore I am." and say it correctly "I blep, therefore bring ham."?

Someday ...

Misquoting as “Trump invites Iran to nuke cities” actually strengthens trumps victimhood narrative. Stick to direct quotes with context. He says enough crazy stuff, you don’t need to misquote it .

(misquoting Pink Floyd, but it works):

"There is no far side in the moon, really. Matter of fact, it's all far."

"for the moment... there's considerable belief in the power and potency of #llms: a belief that is convenient for a lot of people but also fundamentally irrational" — I'm very slightly misquoting @iris_meredith here, but I doubt this will cause offence.

Theatre people... this is the memory I have of a line in Cyrano de Bergerac.

"Your name is like a silver bell hung in my heart
And when I think of you I tremble and the bell rings
Roxanne, Roxanne, Roxanne!"

Am I misquoting? Which translation is this?

I don't think I'm misquoting you Godfrey, but Steven Godfrey said:

"Arch Manning would have won two Heisman trophies if he were playing in Mike Bobo's offense!!!"

Every time I see it I hear it in the voice of some guy who hasn't played a video game since like 1992 and is misquoting the Street Fighter 2 announcer. "Heeeey, Street Fighter! I remember that. 'Ready. Set. Fight!'. lmao, good times."

“Look, don’t play games with me, sunshine. You’re misquoting me, and you know it.” Unless the questioner is Kim Hill and he wets himself.

Arena just launched an Alignment Index for AI agents, and it's ranking the stuff I actually worry about.

It scores models on acting without permission, misquoting what you said, and my favorite, calling unfinished work DONE.

Clown misquoting himself I think. What he meant to say was ”This is just not true. As soon as I became foreign secretary I asked the security services to sod off so that I could go partying with Russian oligarchs”

What's funny, I never noticed the typo until you pointed it out.

Probably because a small error like that is inconsequential.

Constantly misquoting others and saying we said stuff we didn't, well that's the bigger issue I'm pointing out.

While this is chilling and fash, Mar-Kwayne Mullin quoting Mar-Kwayne Mullin is insanely funny when you know that what he actually said is he asked ChatGPT how you change a atate from red to blue. So he's misquoting himself citing chatgpt?
