No Misvil 4 for me until Friday at soonest... Pros of preordering: guarantees I get the thing, even if the store doesn't automatically bring in copies. Cons of preordering: I will definitely not receive the thing on the release date.

Misvil is really good but it has some genuinely pretty intense subject matter right at the beginning (sexual slavery, human trafficking, rape, and similar). I didn’t know how intense it was going in and I was surprised by it. I think it’s absolutely worth reading but also. Heads up.

And your mileage will vary because we all have different taste, but as someone who likes character-forward works and relationships that develop into romance sincerely, I think Misvil checks those boxes perfectly. I joke that the main couple is freak4freak, but they’re also very honestly in love.

I’ve mostly pointed to the elements of Misvil that can be captured in a drawing or two and that means my art leans a little wry or jokey, but I think the series honestly has some of the best romance I’ve ever read in anything. The book 3 plot twist is a deeply romantic sentiment.
