Indigenous entrepreneur Ian Gladue has been making traditional Indigenous dry meat and pemmican through his company, Mitsoh, since 2018.

Brought some pottery into the studio for the first time in months, and put together a more serious and permanent stuck in bed kit beside the bed. Whatever I do I'll still sometimes be stuck in bed for days. I accept that, and reserve the right to do it for my own reasons.

(I couldn’t source the exact meat sticks up here in Canada, so I went with Mitsoh brand traditional bison pemmican, which has the same soft texture and protein.)

Mitsoh bison pemmican is FANTASTIC but pricy.
McSweeny's is good, but they don't say where they get their beef.

Continuing to #BuyCanadian with special treats! I tried this at Métis Crossing last fall and I liked them. So when the cafe by my office in #yegDT had them, of course I'm gonna buy some!

Continuing to #BuyCanadian with special treats! I tried this at Métis Crossing last fall and I liked them. So when the cafe by my office in #yegDT had them, of course I'm gonna buy some!
A carb (both crackers and canned dolmades), a meat (jerky, dried sausage, or this mitsoh dried meat), dried fruit, a case of water, nuts. If I could do dairy I'd do those shelf stable waxed cheeses, if I could do energy bars I'd add those too. If I had a tiny fridge I'd add clamato or tomato juice.
