The rocky shores of Mizen Head (Carn Uí Néid), Ireland, above turquoise blue ocean water. There’s a narrow passage in view that cut through the cliffs. The sky above is cloudy and blue. Captured in June, 2019. Carn Uí Néid gets its name from from a mythological tale (dating back to the 12th century) where the god Lugh defeats Balor in combat and chases him to Mizen Head.

Only one thin, vertical segment remains of Dunbeacon tower house (castle) on the Mizen Peninsula, West Cork, silhouetted against a sparkling Dunmanus Bay.

Built by the O'Mahony clan around 1420-70, it was destroyed in the 1580s 2nd Desmond Rebellion against English rule.

A window through time.
