#mizrahim
This is just as silly as the dove Ashkenazim vs hawk Mizrahim racial theory that people in the West love to peddle.

Relatedly, Yazd has the biggest Zoroastrian population in the world, and the second biggest Mizrahim population outside of Israel (the biggest Mizrahim population outside of Israel is in Tehran.) But like most of Iran it’s majority Shia Muslim, and has some GORGEOUS mosques.

Mizrahim are inconvenient.
June 14, 2026 at 3:57 PM
expecting israeli mizrahim to be pro-arab nations is like expecting miami cubans to be communist
September 30, 2026 at 1:49 AM
This is Mizrahim erasure.
September 23, 2026 at 11:09 PM
I guarantee the people who ask this question believe every Jew is Ashkenazi and have never heard of Mizrahim.
Out of all the arguments about Israel and Israelis, the “they’re stealing Palestinian cuisine” always strikes me as the weirdest and weakest

What exactly do you think the Mizrahi Jews ate?
August 3, 2025 at 4:21 AM
A lot of the shitty kind of Israel critique basically just ignores the existence of Mizrahim
October 12, 2025 at 8:06 PM
This *does* remind me of this one time I was in Israel
5 old heads were arguing - 4 Mizrahim and 1 clear Ashkenazi

Mizrahim: *passionate arguing*

Ashkenazi: *nodding*

Mizrahim: You going to get in here with that cool Euro blood, or let us all kill each other?

Reader, I nearly spat out my tea

making everybody in the world mad by calling Mizrahim "Arab Jews" and then using them as an example of why Arabs have equal rights
June 6, 2025 at 7:16 PM
right it's part of why i'm baffled with this user taking issue over my post quizzical over the mizrahim vote: the mizrahim do not actually think this way!

After the Iranian revolution, they did go after the Jews of Iran, most of whom have now emigrated, many to Israel. They joined the mizrahim, Jewish refugees from other Islamic countries, who are some of Netanyahu's staunchest supporters.
September 28, 2026 at 2:02 AM
There's this talking point that there is no such thing as Israeli cuisine & it's all stolen from other Levantine cultures. (Posters learn who Mizrahim are challenge. Difficulty: impossible)

This a reference to that claim, modified to be facially ridiculous.
October 12, 2025 at 7:43 PM
You know babka is good because it's an Ashkenazi food that even Mizrahim will claim
March 3, 2025 at 4:01 PM
The tendency by many leftists to either assert that every Israeli Jew is a European colonialist, or else to exoticize Mizrahim as "good" Middle Eastern Jews against those "bad" colonialist Ashkenazim, is maddening. You can't understand Israeli politics without understanding the Mizrahi expulsions.

It is true that for most of Jewish history, Jewish peoplehood was not taken to imply a Jewish majoritarian nation-state in Palestine. The connection between peoplehood and statehood is worth interrogating. And there is plenty to say about the relationship of Ashkenazim and Mizrahim in early Zionism.
September 28, 2025 at 6:24 PM
Have you informed the Mizrahim and Sephardim of this?
November 10, 2025 at 3:37 AM
this is disconnected from the question of whether mizrahim and Palestinians are related which: obviously.
March 27, 2025 at 4:33 PM
The way that an eventual right of return scheme would probably work is compensation for Palestinian refugees and also compensation for Mizrahim (even if paid for primarily by the Gulf states rather than the much poorer countries most Mizrahim came from).
July 11, 2026 at 5:14 PM
And since the late 70s to mid 80s, this has come with a *substantial* side of cultural appropriation of Ashkenazim religious imagery (yes, it's always Ashkenazim, almost never Sephardim or Mizrahim or Beta Israel) and, increasingly, fetishisation over the HIgh Holidays themselves

a perennial obsession of anti-semites is the attempt to find 'real Jews' who can be used to attack other Jews. It's the role that Neturei Karta plays for a chunk of the British left too. But picking Mizrahim given actually existing Israeli politics is a real know-nothing sign.
This is always a pretty easy tell for "does not actually understand Israel/Palestine outside of memes." I don't think anyone could look at the political currents of Israel and argue that the Mizrahi are somehow the people who will find common cause with the Arabs...
August 5, 2026 at 12:08 AM
Rome scattered Jews before there were Ashkenazim, Sephardim or Mizrahim.

Call a Mizrahim an Arab and then duck, or else you're waking up on the floor

Do people realize the average Likud voter is a working class Mizrahim individual who has some very developed opinions on Arabs, and their family's history with them

Its the Ashkenazim usually calling for coexistence lol
August 5, 2026 at 1:40 AM
If you only care about anti-Zionist mizrahim

If you only care about super-zionist mizrahim

Then you don't really care about mizrahim. You care about other things.
