Ch. 4’s attribution paths stood out to me: GA4 can credit multiple touchpoints before a conversion, not just the final visit. That connected to our Tableau first/final-touch work and the HubSpot HTML/AI reading: building links is easy, but consistent UTM structure makes them useful. #mktg4060fiasco

Dionysus Brewing can use UTM tracking to identify which campaigns and platforms bring visitors to its website, taproom, events, and online beer shop. Google Analytics uses UTM parameters to identify campaign source, medium, and other traffic information. #mktg4060fiasco

Analyzed 31K website sessions across 5,000 clients in Tableau. Most visitors come back just a few times (median: 4 sessions), but two clients logged 451 and 396 sessions. That's a lot for just 2 of them I think #mktg4060fiasco

One aspect I found interesting from the book was the data privacy and how cookies worked.

I learned how Firebase and GA4 track app users and why consistent tracking and testing are important for accurate data. #mktg4060fiasco

#mktg4060fiasco If could improve something is by creating a more detail UTM to create a more detail story.

Built a Tableau dashboard on Google Analytics data this week. Is website traffic driven by a few heavy users? Nope. Aside from 2 outliers, the top 10 clients make up only ~4% of 31K sessions, and the typical visitor comes back just 4 times. The broad base is what matters. #mktg4060fiasco

One aspect of the Google analytics chapter that I learned is how it can be used to analyze app data which can help businesses with their marketing.

Chapter 4 showed that tools like Google Ads and Google Search can provide a more complete picture of how users find and interact with the website.

I learned about attribution in Chapter 4. I discovered that before making a purchase, consumers will engage with several marketing platforms. This helps companies in determining the most efficient channels. #mktg4060fiasco

One aspect not covered was how it connects campaign measurement to action. Linking analytics with Google Ads, importing key events as conversions, and sharing audiences can turn campaign data into decisions about targeting and budget. #mktg4060fiasco

One aspect I missed is that UTM parameters can override GA4’s automatically collected source and medium data. This makes consistent source, medium, and campaign values essential. I also learned that Google Ads auto-tagging can track ads without manually adding UTMs. #mktg4060fiasco

My biggest takeaway is that good analysis starts with clean setup: events, Tag Manager, and consent all matter. After charting sessions by client ID for class, I can see how GA4 helps explain why a few users drive most traffic. #mktg4060fiasco

Reviewing the highest ranking clients is something that I believe was not noted. Controlling Campaigns is something useful as it helps to apply focus on any current problems to avoid setbacks in the future.

GA4 sorts visitors into channels automatically, but smaller regional search engines often get labeled as "referral" instead of "organic search." The fix: build a custom channel group and make it your primary view. Just remember it only applies to new data going forward. #mktg4060fiasco

Something I'm learning about in web analytics: Google Consent Mode. When a visitor declines cookies, tags adjust what they collect, and GA4 can use modeling to estimate the gap. Privacy and good data aren't opposites, but your numbers depend on your consent setup. #mktg4060fiasco #Analytics

After creating the client session ID visual, I noticed that one aspect of the assignment that was not covered was filtering the top number clients with the highest sessions. The visual showed a descending order of client IDs but maybe could have been narrowed down. #mktg4060fiasco

#mktg4060fiasco Making the graph through cluade was fairly simple. One change I would improve on is making the chart more visually appealing by making it more relatable to the business.
