I took this picture a couple weeks ago right after an #icestorm I got caught in this middle of.

The #sunset light bounces off the ice crystals in the atmosphere.

They're called #sundogs, also known as #mocksun or #parhelia

Tiny Mock Sun as I set out for our evening dogwalk.

The clouds are called #cirrus, they are very high altitude and made of ice crystals. Sometimes they refract and focus sunlight just right, to create a 2nd bright spot in the #sky..

While transferring 15 years of photos, I'm finding cool things I'd forgotten about.

A partial #sundog or #mocksun caused by high altitude #cirrus #clouds of ice crystals.
