im finally getting to one of my most requested mod tasks and remastering birdie for dawntrail :)
i originally made this before i knew much about 3d or modmaking, so you can expect significantly smoother textures and easier posing.

i still gotta (eventually) remake that miqote makeup but aughuahguh... i think modmaking is sort of a slow investment for me 💀especially with the art burnout. or, dropout. ????? you know . so, gposes are sorta a good alternative that can broaden some horizons there

i think xiv modding sphere is in desperate need of more public resources abt the technicalities of modmaking cause frankly i think a lot of complaints about being excluded can be resolved if creators knew there *are* easy ways to include every race in their mods (in some scenarios, not all)

"mods were free but artwork is expensive" there are plenty of people who paid for custom mods! there was a big amount of paid mods! you just weren't in that part of the community but some people also ran their modmaking as a gig

the trouble is that modmaking-oriented spaces are extremely straight and gender-conforming, if not also babyish, and spaces filled with non-modmakers basically have no idea how difficult and time-consuming mod creation is, and get mad if you're not their personal free content mills

Man... Behavior like that actively disincentives me to even try to learn modmaking and to remain far from any shared modding or even fandom spaces. This is utterly toxic and I bet all these people were also the bullies in school, or else wished they were and fulfilled that dream now. Gross af.

sadly I feel I'd have to learn 3D modeling myself for that to happen since my buddy who made it stopped doing modmaking a good while ago, alas and alack.

i have a rather glacial pace for modmaking lately, partially due to waiting for certain bugs to be ironed out + dev kits to get polished but also due to burn out ngl
