Attended IT/TSEC in Orlando to discuss the important work of the Congressional Modeling & Simulation Caucus.
ModSim has the potential to provide schools, government, the military, businesses and communities with better training and improved planning to save time, money and lives.

At ISC last week, I noticed that a LOT of sovereign AI systems are being designed more like traditional modsim rather than pure AI (per this doc). Wonder if those sovereign AI systems are really going to be used for as much AI as advertised.

At ISC last week, I noticed that a LOT of sovereign AI systems are being designed more like traditional modsim rather than pure AI (per this doc). Wonder if those sovereign AI systems are really going to be used for as much AI as advertised.
Something I say a few times a year, when explaining why this isn't like Red Flag, "while we are using ModSim, we are not technically a war game."

I am attending the ModSim conference for the first time next week, and I'm presenting analysis and design modeling of I/O performance requirements for frontier model training based on a year's worth of production data across the VAST hyperscale fleet (>900 training jobs, >140K GPU-years of compute)

Sitting at the ModSim meeting this week, it is clear that every other scientific field has benefited more from advanced computing than neuroscience. Those of us who have tried to do large scale modeling know who has been dismissive in the past. The lack of serious computing in neuro is neuro's fault
