Trump hates Western Europe because of a deep sense of his own cultural and social inferiority. He is ignorant, vulgar, unrefined, loutish, ill-mannered, and monolingual. Western Europeans remind him of that just by standing next to him.

As someone who started my career off translating, I spend WAY too much time pondering how obvious it is to me that the folks propelling translation AI are overwhelmingly monolingual. There are so many assumptions made about comparative linguistics that only monolingual people could believe.
