Today's the 1st of November, by long tradition the Month of the Dead, when the souls of the dead are remembered and prayed for. Each day in November, a different memorial.

Here on a 1714 memorial at Hinderclay, Suffolk, two skeletons support hourglasses. Cherubs flank a bell above.
