We had compilation records before (punk-o-rama, MoonSka compilations) but 1997 gave us my favorite compilation:

bonus: Give ‘Em The Boot 2 is also quite great (the rest not so much)

The Scofflaws - Moon Records (1991) #thescofflaws #ska #nycska #moonska

Listened to The Toasters - Hard Band For Dead. Bit of a mixed bag for me. Some absolutely floor filling ska, some slower tracks and a few I skipped

Listened to Moon Ska Punk City compilation. A collection of 10 UK punk, ska & alternative bands ranging from excellent to easy to skip. Includes Sonic Boom Six, Farce, Lubby Nugget, King Prawn, Whitmore, [spunge], Uncle Brian, Fandangle, Zen Baseballbat & Shootin' Goon

Moonska records was brilliant.

I'm an old school ska fan of almost 45 years. The Specials lead me to THIS ARE TWO TONE when it was released lead me to Prince Buster in my early teens.

My photo career had me photograph bands from NYC's Moon Ska label.

Plus, the Skadanks were great live.

In the 90s labels used to send put promo photos of bands to fanzine writers to advertise their upcoming releases. This is a promo photo card for Skoidats sent out by Moon Ska Records. Their first album is a great mix of oi and ska.

Any idea why they aren’t on streaming? Seems like the old MoonSka releases are slowly finding their way out, so kind of surprised they haven’t.
