Morphologically the shape has been found in fish traps from the medieval period around 1500 to 1600. The written records in relation to them are much later from the 18th and 19th century. They may have had use during both periods!

Morphologically one might expect *uskoma-vitun-tonta, but I think it's prosodically less natural.

My god, Construction Grammar is such an embarrassment.

English is morphologically poor, which means it has null morphemes for things a lot of other languages have overt morphemes for. And - SURPRISE! - those overt morphemes have the same semantics you are attributing to the English "construction" 🙄

that really depends on whether the subjects are more morphologically spiders (and which) or more morphologically girls.

Geometric frustration in morphologically chiral nanoribbons of layered perovskites
Stitched brightfield image. The ribbon was grown by cooling the supersaturated solution at a rate of 2.5 °C min−1 from 75 to 55 °C in a disk. This is a stitched image taken from multiple regions using a 20× objective. The stitching was done in ImageJ using the Grid/Collection Stitching plugin with manually pre-assigned coordinates and the linear blending fusion method. Multiple images with various focal planes were captured at each region and flattened using the Extended Depth of Field (easy mode) plugin in ImageJ. The object at the bottom left is a bulk piece of crystal; that at the top right is a cluster of ribbons. Due to the narrow width of the ribbon, precise stitching was challenging, and the stitched image might not accurately represent the actual length or morphology of the ribbon. Please refer to Supplementary Video 2 for the exact morphology observed during in situ growth. (a) and (b) correspond to (FCA3)2PbBr4, while (c) and (d) correspond to (BrCA3)2PbBr4. (b) was grown at a rate of 0.044 oC min−1. The unit cells are shown with the symmetry elements (21 screw axis or inversion center, embedded in the inorganic lattices only) marked at their actual crystallographic positions...

Interns and museum staff also came to watch as we set up our equipment and documented seal amulets. We had a lively exchange with Diana Arzuza Buelvas, the curator of the entomology collection, on how the photography protocol captures the finest details of these morphologically complex items.

Been having such a nostalgic time listening back to my ol’ D&D podcast. Was just reminded of this lovely bit of fan-art we received from the excellent @alisdaiross.bsky.social

In-world, there were giant rat pegasi (morphologically distinct from giant bats) which served as public transport. Fun. Xx

Revisiting Alpinia cumingii (Zingiberaceae): phylogenetic placement, recircumscription, and a description of a new morphologically similar species
Alpinia cumingii was described by Karl Moritz Schumann in 1904. Also from the Philippines, two remarkably similar species, Alpinia penduliflora and Alpinia

"The United Mexican States" is "Mexican", not "United Statesian"

"The French Republic" is "French", not "Republican"

And your fucking own "The United Kingdom" is "British" 😂🥱

For the US of A, "America" is the proper noun core. Therefore, American is the morphologically natural choice.

English.

Oh nice. Need to find my phone to take my scope pics, but my Xylaria sample from a couple weeks ago doesn't closely match any species' descriptions on Mushroomexpert or Mycoquebec. Morphologically like X. cornu-damae, microscopically like X. filiformis

...Beirut whose *Greek* name doesn't survive. The name is camouflaging perfectly as a morphologically Arabic name although it has nothing to do with Arabic, which is why not every obscure village whose name sounds Arabic must be from Arabic, imo.
