Wayne county’s infant mortality rate is one of the highest in the nation and for those that don’t understand in entirely what that tells us besides infants dying, is that it tells us the overall health of a community. The higher the infant mortality rate= the unhealthier that community is overall

The maternal mortality and infant mortality rates across the US, across all ethnic groups and income groups, are hundreds of times higher the rates in any civilized country around the world. It's a complete failure of the government.

The process of "unloading" was common practice in the Soviet Gulag. To reduce official mortality rates in camps, administrators would release critically or terminally ill detainees then not count the deaths of those who perished soon afterward.
ICE/Border Patrol are using the same tactic.

Bottom line: COVID is not "just like flu." It has carried a population mortality burden several times larger than flu A, and that burden continued past the emergency phase. Sustained surveillance and prevention still matter.
