Female Winter Moth. Females are flightless as they have only short, stubby wings, and attract males by climbing up tree trunks and releasing pheromones. Occasionally they can be transported in cop, by the winged males. This one was on our garage wall, surrounded by several males. #mothsonmyfinger

Great Prominent (Peridea anceps). I’ve said it many times, but I love the prominent family of moths. I had Great, Pale and Iron in the moth trap yesterday. A great and prominent return for #mothsonmyfinger
