appreciating the sky in the morning through the ever-thinning Barbados cherry tree which seems to be doing okay in the relentless Monsoon August 20 2026 season in US agricultural zone9b. if you zoom in you will notice this bird on top of that lamp post is a Eurasian collared dove. The Nest at the base of that lamp post, which is in a prickly pear paddle cactus, not shown, is occupied by a White Winged Dove. in my mind those are the famous Phoenix Media or communication towers. they used to be in quote unquote downtown Phoenix, which got rezoned. and they got placed here, sometime in the 70s I believe? in South Mountain Park which is a public park in Phoenix Foothills, a palm tree pops up into the sky I have used a golden filter which diffuse some of the red and brought out more orange in an otherwise kind of mild cloudy August Sonoran Desert night. a mostly leafless cluster of Western honey Mesquite tree branches help to obscure a White Winged Dove mother bird keeping a nest in the yard in a prickly pear paddle pack. using snap seeds Kodak gold filter helped me highlight the bird, which is blurry. no filter but an appreciation of the golden light that is prominent almost everywhere you go here.☺️ selfie of Cindy in a wide-brimmed sunhat in Shadow in her pajamas, (sidebar not alt text)pretty fun; I got to wear that whole baby doll dress sensation with pockets in Cotton all summer, ugly green one, now in the donation bag, I could not stand to look at my $5 pseudo nightgown after that hole Washington reflecting pond fiasco, went for five bucks, Old Navy sidebar. I am way too old to wear this stuff in public but? what a bargain and in Cotton with pockets very cozy.) with a vest and some tennis shoes. I like that my legs look like they are 12 ft tall and I love the gentle textured vibe of the corn ornamental gravel which covers the surface of this 50-year-old yard in the Sonoran Desert of the Phoenix Foothills in US AG zone 9B
