A dense, milky inversion swirls through the South Fork Snoqualmie River Valley. In the far South Cascades, Mount Rainier's summit dominates the horizon, visible from the snowy top of Mount Teneriffe. To the west of Mount Teneriffe, the precipitous, jagged northeast face of Mount Si towers above the Snoqualmie River Valley. Behind it, a dense, milky inversion slowly creeps up the gentle ridgeline. The near 400-foot Teneriffe Falls (formerly Kamikaze Falls) cascades dramatically down the sheer rock face below Mount Teneriffe. Its graceful ribbon of white water sparkles in the sunlight.

I went up Mount Si, thinking it could be a cloudy hike. But half up way there the sun showed up, and had a gorgeous view over a sea of white clouds covering the land as far as eye could see.

Myself sitting on a rock near the top of Mount Si. The sky behind was so blue, and the valley below covered by a sea of clouds. The sea of clouds covering Issaquah, Bellevue, Seattle, as seen from Mount Si. Patches of clouds are illuminated by rays of sun. The clouds covering the ground below Mount Si, with rays of sun spreading through a thin layer of clouds up above the sky. I think this is Queen Anne's radio towers, seen from Mount Si. The only island of land visible from Seattle from afar, above the clouds covering the ground.

Hiked on Mount Si this morning.

The trail is perfectly curated, and a good challenge, ending with a rewarding panoramic view.

But the very top is for rock climbers, I had to give up.

Still had a great time!

The top has a couple panoramic viewpoints. Obviously very rewarding after the hike.

I was like, maybe I can go to the top but the last 300m of the trail are super steep. I'm lacking the necessary climbing skills so I went back.

The way up Mount Si was a good enough challenge. Going up one could guess through the trees the landscape that would be visible when on top. When approaching the summit, it gets a little more rocky.
