#move-industries
This is similar across many industries. HR ignores issues. Reporting makes things worse. It’s easier to move roles/companies.

AI usage in creative industries seems like it's one of those things where you give an inch, and they take a mile.
"Oh, look at all the tedious work being done and the costs in labor it cut! So, let's move it to the other departments too! Don't worry!"
Suddenly that repeats, over and over.

As a fee-paying member of the Society of Authors, I've condemned this 'Charter of Ethical AI Use in the Creative Industries' in the strongest possible terms.

A disappointing move by an organisation whose mission is ostensibly in authors' interests. The word salad of above charter is anything but.

Sure, Trump specifically wants the auto and steel industries to move all into the US, but he'll give up his foundational plan because Skippy is on the job. Like others, I wonder if he's read the autopact.
What an embarrassment.

Software is the absolute best case for the fast adoption story. Yet it's taken years, the software profession has proven robust, and from the consumer side little has changed.

Physical industries move even slower.

Sad thing is that the people who cause this sort of death in industries never get in trouble. They move onto another industry, and do it all over again

Ever wonder why movies and music was full gimmick shit in the 90s and the 00s? Did you really think the people who came up with those ideas quit?

At the heart of the energy is a fear that if Europe does not move yet to protect its industries from high quality yet cheaper Chinese competition, there will be nothing left to shield.

Why do I get the feeling this very admirable move of Sally Rooney's is going to have no impact on a UK government which consistently acts to suggest it cares not a whit about our cultural industries?

You know those infrastructure co-ops I've been writing about and the whole contraption that goes with them, I've thought of an idea to move them and specific industries in to a tax bracket that exempts them from or greatly reduces taxes on them to incentiveize growth and investments.

Public lands belong to all of us, not just the industries that want access to them. Conservation shouldn't be treated as an afterthought whenever development becomes politically convenient.

This is a pretext for harassing the universities JD Vance named here and nothing more. It's a way to undercut their ability to recruit talent from around the world - talent that often adds value to US universities and industries once students and postdocs move on.

Strengthening cooperation with Scandinavian countries is a very positive strategic move by the current Polish government. A similar perspective on the threat posed by Russia and the possession of advanced military industries (especially in Sweden and Norway)

Yeah, I was thinking about things like “ssl certs” as an industry. But that alone really means “all businesses.”

I’m also confident some of these problems are ~solvable, but it would take industries a relative long time to move.

They have moved industries and found themselves starting almost from scratch.

And then there were the CVs that looked absolutely perfect. Every promotion on time, every move a step upwards, every employer a recognisable name.

Guess which ones were easier to sell to clients?

The most impactful, immediate thing you can do is move to a plant based diet. The main driver of biodiversity loss, and a huge chunk of climate change are the meat and dairy industries.
#rewilding without going plant based just exports the problem.
