Exactly. It's a miracle! Never mind the surgery, radiation, and chemo they did on the side. It was the Moxidectin and Nitenpyram! Bonus! They no longer have fleas!

Moxidectin, for example, went untested for human diseases for decades; we now know that it can cure ~70% of whipworm infections in kids.

Aspirin was used for over a century before we found it had cardiovascular benefits.

Moxidectin, a better treatment for river #blindness, has been rescued by non-profit funders after the pharmaceutical industry walked away.
A better treatment for river blindness is available, but its rollout is complicated
A novel financing model rescued moxidectin from abandonment. The path to getting the drug manufactured and distributed exposes deeper faultlines in global health systems

Can’t count how many border collies presenting for sudden blindness whose owners were puzzled by: do you have horses? Did you deworm recently?

But they got it soon enough. A few bags of intralipid later, most did ok.

Oh, and resistant heartworms are a thing. Moxidectin, etc, are gaining favor.

Credelio Quattro, Simparica Trio both have Moxidectin & Pyrantel but, as name suggests, Quattro has one more API; and supposedly kills ticks, heartworms faster

Zenrelia obviously different from Apoquel (remember black box warning)

Befrena, Cytopoint both monoclonal antibodies

Parasites survive by controlling their muscles & movement, but what happens when that system suddenly shuts down? Moxidectin interrupts the signals parasites need to function, stopping them in their tracks. See the chemistry behind this drug in my short educational video.

So it turns out that ivermectin is no longer the best medicine to fight parasitic worms. It is inferior to moxidectin. No word on how successful either of these medicines are in treatment of a COVID-19 infection. Lol.

Newer Credelio Quattro actually lacks one indication that Plus has, demodex mites

Both contain lotilaner

Plus also has milbemycin oxime, while Quattro has moxidectin, praziquantel, and pyrantel
