#ms/cfs
So many major diseases (ME/CFS, MS, some cancers, etc) can be virally-triggered.
The eugenicist fantasy of letting nature kill off the sick & disabled is obviously evil, but it’s also laughably absurd when the fastest way to create new sick & disabled people is to let infectious diseases run rampant

Long COVID could hold key to ME/CFS, MS.

"Long COVID could provide vital clues to uncover the cause of other life-limiting post-viral infections such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Multiple Sclerosis at a new research centre to be established at La Trobe University"
Long COVID could hold key to ME/CFS, MS
La Trobe to research post-viral infections with $3m in NHMRC funding.

what is the fuckin deal with this. of all the diseases and disabilities why is it long covid, (formerly) MS, ME/CFS, and (maybe?) fibromyalgia that get this treatment
I’m genuinely shocked at the people on here who think long covid isn’t real. Seriously? Your actuaries, departments of health even the freaking department of defense know it’s real. Apparently people used to think MS wasn’t real. There’s a long history of telling sick people they’re crazy.

Hoffnungen der ME/CFS-Patienten zerstört: Bundesministerium lehnt Studie ab

These vaccines could prevent so much absolutely horrific suffering if anyone in power actually cared about preventing human suffering… everything from MS, ME/CFS, multiple cancers, dementia… we could stop them in their tracks if we wanted to

Ridiculously there's bugger all to zero compulsory training in the NHS about ME/CFS. If it were, say, MS, people would be in uproar.

So I'd appreciate it if you sign this futile attempt at chang- I mean, this petition

ME/CFS ist neuroimmunologische Krankheit, MS-Therapie beeinflusst Impfung, MS-PatientInnen haben oft Long Covid. 😳

The extent to which #ME/CFS has been under-researched compared to other conditions… (HIV/AIDS, Parkinson’s, RA, MS)

Via @rorpreston.bsky.social @crunchme.bsky.social

The gap in accumulated research on ME/CFS compared to other diseases like HIV/AIDS & MS has widened through decades of neglect

So, I have a huge problem with the theory of somatization just as theory; it doesn’t hold up. Every previously psychosomatic disorder has been found to have biochemical/biological roots, from hysteria through MS, Crohn’s Disease, and asthma and now into CFS/ME and post-viral syndromes.

Neuerdings hält sich ja der ME/CFS-feindliche Mythos, die Long Covid-Forschung wäre sehr auf ME/CFS zentriert.

Nunja:

Caroline Kingdon speaking about functional impairment and mortality in #MECFS

Biobank research has shown people with ME/CFS to be more functionally impaired than people with MS. And between 2001–2016, ME/CFS was mentioned on 88 death certificates in England and Wales.

Until it can accurately identify dynamic disabilities, be less binary in its questions & better designed for people with conditions like MS and CFS, it’s not fit for purpose.

Eine Therapie gegen ME/CFS böte finanziell also einiges an Potenzial. #Sprunginnovation #MDC002

Just fling research dollars at post-viral issues. ME/CFS, Long Covid (which turns into ME/CFS but we're treating separately for some reason), MS, post-Lyme, the works.
what offbeat but actually useful cause would you hurl your money at if you were an eccentric billionaire
And I would also rewild the Great Plains. That’s at least a crackpot idea commensurate with the scale of the billionaire problem.

1) In a new pre-print, the lab of Bhupesh Prusty reports that antibodies (IgG) from ME/CFS patients cause mitochondrial fragmentation in endothelial cells.

This was not seen in antibodies from MS patients or healthy controls.

Fatigue einhergeht

*Eisenmangel, Schilddrüsenunterfunktion, MS, Diabetes mellitus, Herzerkrankungen, Schlaganfall, Kollagenosen, Tumorerkrankungen u.v.a.
