Fun fact: the Kawasaki C-2 has a higher thrust-to-weight ratio (~0.38 at MTOW) than the F-100 Super Sabre (~0.3–0.33). A military transport out-muscling a 1950s supersonic fighter on raw power says a lot about how far jets have come.

Today the F-35C weighs only a little bit less than a fully loaded F-14 (71k lb vs 74k lb at MTOW). So any newer platform that is heavier (like the next gen F/A-XX) would pretty much be unusable on the current steam-based launch and recovery systems.

Die Su-34 hat 23,3m Länge und 14,7m Spannweite bei 44t MTOW. Ich setze meine Schätzung auf 50-55t MTOW!
