First of all, I'm not a scholar, just an interested layman. For you someone can be a mujaddid but for someone else the same person can be a heretic. Therefore I think the definition of tajdid is ambiguous. For me, the mu'tazila was a tajdid movement, comparable to the European Enlightment.
