1/13 The Japanese word of the day is 迎え撃つ (mukaeutsu), which means "to meet an attack." Let's dive into the etymology of the kanji behind this word and uncover their intricate (and frankly, slightly unhinged) meanings. First up, we have 迎 (mukaeru, to welcome).

A little funfact: "Shiawase-o-Mukaeru" or "幸せを迎える" means "To Welcome Joy" While Bajaröb mean "To Share Joy," the meaning of the event changes to better suit the IRP Lore for this event which allow even those once unjustly banished from SnS to return! See below for more;

8/13 迎 (mukaeru), with its sense of "welcoming" (or rather, boldly stepping forward to see what the fuss is all about), and 撃 (utsu), which brings the full smackdown energy, come together to form 迎え撃つ (mukaeutsu). This word is the perfect balance of a polite nod and a flying roundhouse kick.

3/13 So, it's a bit like someone giving you a standing ovation, but also like they might be sizing you up—friend or foe? This combo has also influenced 仰 (aogu, "to look up"). Overall, the character 迎 (mukaeru) is all about moving towards people or things.
