NGL, I'm glad that the jury got it right, even though they didn't get to see the many times she'd previously tried to poison her ex:

Got to say if you were trying to murder me then using poisoned mushrooms in a Beef Wellington is a pretty sure way to do it.
Bloody love Beef Wellington.
The individual servings and different coloured plates for the guests would ring alarm bells though #mushroomkiller

Everything You Need to Know About The Mushroom Killer Appeal
The Mushroom case resulted in a life sentence, yet both sides are appealing. Here is what the Court of Appeal must decide. Erin Patterson was convicted of three murders and one attempted murder, receiving a non-parole period of 33 years. When a trial of this magnitude reaches the verdict stage, the legal process is rarely finished. Understanding the grounds for a criminal appeal requires looking at what the court is actually tasked with reviewing, rather than just the headlines. I am looking at the legal arguments being raised by both the prosecution and the defence. This is not about re-litigating the facts of the poisoning; it is about examining the specific legal questions the appellate court is being asked to resolve. Whether you are interested in the mechanics of a murder conviction or how the appellate system functions in practice, we are stripping back the procedural complexity. Subscribe for weekly legal breakdowns, and let me know in the comments if you want to see an analysis of a specific appeal process, or a different case, next. 01:08 - The First Misconception 02:58 - The Defence Argument 05:24 - What is a "Substantial Miscarriage of Justice"? 06:25 - The Prosecutions Argument 08:02 - Putting it all Together 09:06 - What about the High Court?

I don't want to influence the verdict but the mushroom killer has joined that exclusive club of defendants who think that pretending to cry on camera will help their case. She wipes away tears that aren't there, looking at them intently, as if they represent her hopes of an acquittal #mushroomkiller
