A massive contribution of over 1.49 billion shillings has been made toward the restoration of St. Mary's Mutolere Parish Church, which is set to celebrate its centenary in 2029. The proposed budget for the restoration is 2 billion shillings. The launch ceremony was held at St. Paul Mutolere Boys Secondary School, where the Chief Guest, Deputy Speaker of Uganda, Rt. Hon.

Residents of Nyakabande Sub-county in Kisoro District are threatening to stage a peaceful demonstration on the upcoming NRM Liberation Day to protest the government's failure to fulfill a key manifesto promise: the tarmacking of the 5km Nyakabande-Mutolere road. The 2021-2026 NRM Manifesto, on page 137, claims to have completed the tarmacking of this road as part of the 1,162km of new roads constructed between 2016 and 2021.

The Manager of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) in Kisoro, Engineer Charles Ateker Odeke, has condemned the practice of disposing unwanted waste into the sewage networks, which is disrupting the flow of sewage to designated treatment areas and causing sewage spillages around the town. This warning follows a recent sewer line breakdown earlier this week at the former Drive-In Hotel along Mutolere Road in Kisoro Municipality.

Four days of intensive entrepreneurship and business skills training concluded at Mutolere Secondary School in Nyakabande Sub-County, Kisoro District.
