I’ve worked in criminal law for the last 20+ years, and have been representing people charged in homicide cases for the last 10 years. Number of cases I’ve seen involving use of muzzleloader firearms? Zero.
A musket from 1776 can fire a lead ball at a velocity of around 1,000 feet per second.
Imagine what that can do to a human body. Yet under federal and most state laws, it’s exempt from gun regulations. Many antique or replica guns aren’t considered firearms and even convicted felons can own them.

I love the cranking of a laser gun, as if it was a survival radio, mimicking the slow reload time of a muzzleloader. It's such a wonderful contrivance combining thematically appropriate history, retrofuture aesthetics, and rule of cool that it deserves to be in a better game.
