The Pentagonal Dominionists have 25 holidays important enough to be in my notes, lol.

Admittedly, the Star Carnival is three of those since I have its Ophidian and Cosmonite name as separate entries. It's THE big holiday of the year, being Lucognidus's birthday and deathday
IT IS TIME (I’m a little late) for day 1 of my first ever prompt game.

I’ll be posting once a day different prompt about the myths and folklore of all of your wonderful worlds.

Question 1 is, what kind of holidays are celebrated in your world?

The answer is... kinda. In theory, they think it would be nice if they could use more advanced tech. In their reality, harnessing electricity makes the Lightning God mad and he's prone to throwing lightning bolts when angry... So, anything electrical is a no-go
We’ve talked about magic, but how do people feel about it

If you setting had magic or advanced tech, how do normal people feel about it? Are there misconceptions about how it works?

Do people try and avoid it or is it something that draws a lot of admiration or attention.

The example you gave is exactly it in my world. The names of many Demon Lords are forbidden in polite company. Some even extend it to common symbols of those demons- mirrors for Vinoc, spiders for Hollow Void. If PD people own a mirror at all, they keep it covered until they need it.
Today let’s focus on some of the more frightening mythology.

What is a myth in your setting that is taken completely seriously even by people who may not be superstitious. Are there any names of demons that are forbidden? Or places you can’t go?

I'll focus on the Good Thyme Inn cast here.

Shallot doesn't particularly care for holidays for their intended purpose, but she likes that it brings in customers for the feast.

Parsnips and Grilled enjoy making the feasts. Grilled especially loves the Flame Carnival since it's all
Here is day 3

Today we ask a more character driven question.

How does your Mc (or any oc) feel about the holidays and which is the most important to them?

Do they celebrate anything in particular, or feel disrupted by the holidays?

Disabled people are treated as people. And even in magical settings, some disabled folk have powers (like a Blind Seer, or levitating paraplegic).

And there are kickass disabled warriors.
How your world sees people with disabilities?

People with disabilities exist everywhere, and sometimes others don’t understand.

Weather or not it’s a birth defect or something else, how does the world treat disabled people?

Are there any myths surrounding disabilities?

or, as they are called in the Pentagonal Dominion post-canonization of the Lord Hierophant: St. L'tsok's bread.

There are two feast days for him, the Feast of St. L'tsok (Oct 19), and the Solemnity of St. L'tsok (Feb 9). For both days, waffles are the food de jour.
Today we ask about everyone favorite topic, food.

In your holidays, are there any special foods or drinks? Are they festive and only made once a year? Or do that have religious or cultural significance?

Is there a feast?

Today we’re gonna focus on something else

Are there any superstitions or widely held beliefs in your setting that are actually not based on anything? Or at least not anything of consequence.

Anything that is believed to be true, but actually not.

The PD people still follow the "K" rules for naming. Which is to say, you're not allowed to have a name starting with "K" unless you're a Dragon or a Centaur, but in that case your name MUST start with a K. Long ago, the Demon Prince Gorhelk would eat people whose name started with a K

In Re: Shattered Memories, the most common way to become immortal is to ascend to divinity. There are other ways, but that is the most well known.

#mythdecember #writesky #prompt
Today we will address immortality and the length people go though to get it.

Are there myths about becoming immortal in your setting? Places like the fountain of youth or things like the peaches of immortality?

Even if it’s not possible do people still try?

#MythDecember In the Pentagonal Dominion, it's not a belief, but the facts of their cosmology: All people have a mind which dwells within their soul. The soul is an incorporeal but flexible 'copy' of their body. When the body dies, the soul rises out. Shinigami (servants of the Death God) take souls
We’ve talked about after lives but what about the piece that keeps people together, is it a soul?

Are people only powered by the beating of their heart or is there a magic inside them as well? What happens to it when people die can it be harnessed?

What do people believe?

Are there specific burial methods?

The Fannaren semi-equivalent to Christmas is called Revenblis, which is a three day holiday.

Mana's a big fan of two big aspects of it: the gifting part and the typical closeout which is a big bonfire community feast.

...she's not big on the very carnal event portion of it. 😂

Q8: #mythDecember

The setting is basically my take on treating Palestinian folklore as serious world building. So all beings, spirits, djinn, ghouls, animals, have their own cultures. They have their own myths and folklore about each other. There’s no separation of magical and non magical being.
Today let’s give the monsters and ghosts a chance to share.

We all know that humans have myths and folklore about creatures and monsters. But in your world, are there any intelligent monsters that have myths about people?

What do they not understand about the plain

#MythDecember Day 17: Weaponized magic tends not to be tied to physical objects. History records all manner of enchanted swords and halberds and shields, but from a practical standpoint, there are easier ways to kill. If you're talking about thaumaturgic schemata and geometry, on the other hand…

In the Pentagonal Dominion, people either worship the Decatheon, or no one. Worship of before-world Gods is heretical at worst, or kinda strange in more tolerant places.

Now, there are sects within Decatheon worship, say for instance, the Ulese style vs. the Polt style of worshipping
Today we are going to talk about how people in your setting interact with one another.

Do people of different faiths respect each other, or are they more opposed?

With faiths that respect each other how do they justify the different theology?
