I think its a bit too pricey for most ESP32 applications. I think this one will be stronger competition there:

The nRF7x patches that are loaded from the host MCU are binary blobs, but I believe that the host drivers are open source.

I'm using #nRFConnect to try to send updated firmware to my new Prolo ring. I can connect. I can browse to the firmware file. The firmware and all other files are grayed out and I can't select any. Any suggestions?

Yes, and that's what embassy-nrf does for Bluetooth, etc., but there's a lot you can do in nrfConnect which you can't do in embassy-nrf yet because getting all of the stuff the blob does up and implemened is a pretty significant task, given that they likely are getting fuck all guidance from Nordic.

I used a bluetooth scanner to confirm that the battery management system was online. Yay!

I connected a charger and observed its current display. Nothing. Not charging.

the only extra step is finding the MAC address of the thing but I just used NRFConnect on android and it was tracked down in like 2 seconds
