A possible Nabis capsiformis(?) in a box of fresh Moroccan raspberries from the supermarket today. (Doesn't say where it was packaged.)

Meet Nabis roseipennis! He's in the family Nabidae which contains the damsel flies. They're predators, similar to the mantis! They're not picky either, eating anything smaller than themselves and sometimes even each other when food runs low. #bugsky #Nabis #nabidae

These little critters can inflict a quite painful 'bite', I can still feel it an hour after it pierced my finger 😒

Yes, that strikes me too looking back with more experience of other Nabis, but when I caught mine I’d not done much with bugs - in fact it was my first ever Nabidae! I only thought it might be interesting and worth a closer look because it was in a trap with more migrant moths than resident moths.

I've never actually checked any #VC55 Nabis ferus specimens to exclude Nabis pseudoferus, but this one is definitely ferus!
