A lot of research goes into determining if a biocontrol can be safely released.

NAISMA has factsheets on all approved biocontrols and their target species!

Great day for an #invasiveplant removal workday at Rose Hill Cemetery! Took out a respectable patch of Ligustrum (privet)and Albizia (mimosa) that have taken over the historic African American burial section.

There really aren't that many people out there dedicated solely to removing invasive species. Lots of landscapers have a license, you need one to get anywhere in horticulture, but not for management. There's also certification through NAISMA on top of that, which is $$ naisma.org
But I'll do it.

Happy #nationalinvasivespeciesawarenessweek!

While I L♥️VE snakes, it’s important to recognize the damage that they (and ALL #invasivespecies) do outside of their native range.

Here's your public reminder that invasive species have nothing to do with how we feel about them, or where they originate. Nature couldn't care less about human feelings let alone social constructs. This is a legal designation reserved for species that cause max harm and have legal implications.
