It’s with heavy hearts that we honor the memory of Nakoda and her cubs, whose tragic loss this year highlights the need for stronger protections for wildlife in our national parks. One key issue is road safety, as collisions with vehicles remain a major threat to grizzly bears and other animals.

The homicide deaths of four people at Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation have rocked the community. RCMP Major Crimes still searching for a suspect. Nearby Zagimay Anishinabek has heavy police presence but RCMP aren't confirming it's related to the homicides.
