To be clear, an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear sites would likely have limited effect. They could marginally set the program back, but it's unclear how well a strike on Natanz in particular would work. Natanz is built 8 meters underground and protected by two sets of walls over 3 meters thick. 4/X

The most advanced "bunker busters" in the US arsenal could penetrate into Natanz and cause significant damage, but we have so far refused to share these with Israel (or anyone else, for that matter). 5/X

IT'S NOT FINE. Yes, the strikes on the enrichment plants at Qom (Fordow FEP) and Natanz (PFEP and FEP) appear successful. But there has been no effort to strike the enormous underground facility next to Natanz where Iran can make more centrifuges and maybe do other things. 7/17

Some good news: Iran says "no signs of contamination" after US airstrikes targeted nuclear facilities at Fordo, Isfahan and Natanz. Hundreds of thousands of deaths averted by sheer luck.

Israel does have a stock of older bunker busters (the GBU-28 and the BLU-109), but those would have a harder time dealing with the fortifications around Natanz. This could be circumvented by dropping multiple in the same spot (like we saw in the strike that killed Nasrallah).
