…are they launching their CAP at “four nautical miles?!”

Look…I don’t know how the Navy does things, but that seems like a bad idea to be launching into the center of a MEZ…

The British Maritime Trade Operations Agency (UKMTO) received a report of an incident 72 nautical miles east of Ras Al-Khafji, Saudi Arabia.

A tanker heading southeast through the Arabian Gulf was hit by two unknown projectiles on its left side.

The Air Force’s new Request For Information, which has a deadline of Nov. 19, offers some technical specifications for ERAM. It should be a 500-pound class weapon with a range of greater than 250 nautical miles and a speed of more than Mach 0.6.

Had a lovely conversation yesterday with @captaincliff.bsky.social about tech companies dropping the ball on navigation apps for nautical applications.

Tech has largely forgotten how important it is for product managers to know how their customers are using the things that they build.

This is so stupid.

And I'm not a floaty guy, but, should you let the enemy fleet get within 4 nautical miles of your carrier battlegroup?

And why does the ambiguously Asian bad guy seem to have kind of a Scottish accent?
Some Navy commercials are great. This one is not one of them. Just a bizarre thing to spend money on.

Any naval battle that begins with a stated range to the enemy of under 4 nautical miles hasn't taken place in the last 200 years. This was so very stupid. Unless of course it happened at night in the slot off of Guadalcanal that is.
