A Mother and Her Cat by winterune --- Standing beneath Nyanko-sensei’s perch on the high wall, Touko squinted up against the sun’s glare and said, “Nyankichi-kun, hello! It’s rare to see you home so early.” Nyanko-sensei peeled open one eyelid. A slitted emerald eye peered back at her, blinking slowly, before his mouth opened in a big yawn. “Takashi-kun is not home yet. Are you waiting for the time to pick him up?” Nyanko-sensei’s round tail swished as though in affirmation. Touko smiled. “You always go with him everywhere, don’t you? That puts my heart at ease.” A grunt and another swish of his tail. Touko rarely ever heard Nyanko-sensei meow, but she knew the cat was listening to her. However odd it sounded, Touko was certain Nyanko-sensei understood every word she said. --- commission

Tracing Roots by winterune --- The treatment was swift. Krile shared a portion of her aether with the swine familiar and it subsequently wiggled its big flappy ears. It pivoted, wrinkled its snout, and shot a beam of light toward the senseless girl. The people around watched with rapt attention, some with concern for the girl while others with astonishment at the porxie. Krile herself was fixated on her patient’s condition. Tristan, however, couldn’t help noticing the deepening pallor of her skin, nor the sweat beading her temple, the longer the familiar exerted its magick. The last time Tristan had heard from Krile, she had still been in training with Alisaie on the use of the porxies. Clearly Krile was overexerting herself now. He shifted his feet, positioning himself slightly behind her so he’d be ready to catch her should she fall, but the beam of light subsided not long after that, and the porxie gave a tiny but audible burp. --- commission
