It's a complete teardown and rebuild for Notre Dame basketball in 2026-27. Can that help the Irish finish with a winning season for first time since 2022?

What are the top five (six) most sacred jersey numbers in @NDmbb history? Seems easy, but is it?

The Detroit Lions and Notre Dame football/men's basketball. I've given up on the idea of NDMBB ever winning a NCAA tournament, they can't hurt me anymore.

My football teams, however... I am ready to be hurt again.

following up on this. Because the kids are active we rarely watch NDFB so they haven't really seen peak sports fan dad because the Giants, Isles, NDMBB, etc are rarely in this position.

I think I once I stood in the same spot for 10 minutes and my wife told the kids "you're dad has issues"

I'll admit that I (and probably Shrewsberry) was fooled by the expanded coaching staff complete with a dedicated recruiting specialist, the dedicated performance staff ala football, and a basketball GM.
The monied alumni don't care about NDMBB. Hence ND doesn't care.

welp
a series of tweets re: ND basketball from Tom Noie, a guy who sucks a lot of shit but is very connected Source: @NDmbb coach Micah Shrewsberry is not a finalist for the Butler University coaching job. There is no dialogue with Butler, nothing behind the scenes with anyone from Butler. Shrewsberry will return for his fourth year at Notre Dame. Maybe too a fifth, sixth and seventh. Source: Micah Shrewsberry wants to be at Notre Dame and "feels a responsibility to get that thing turned around. He's not running from anything." More: Expect ND transfer portal exodus to continue. Key guys are being offered far more money to play elsewhere. One example (name withheld for obvious reasons): One rotation guy will make more than $1 million with another team next year. At ND, he made $150,000 Source: Expect Notre Dame's roster - from a numbers standpoint - to look a lot like it did when Shrewsberry arrived from Penn State in 2023. That year, the Irish had three returning scholarship players. They may have three returning in 2026-27.
