Our subject is presented in a jet black, velvet hooded cloak within a slightly out-of-focus background of very pale desert mountains. Her straight dark hair is flowing out and falling from the side of her pale, downturns & slightly smiling face. Her closed eyes are barely visible from underneath the shadow of her hooded head. A polarizing filter is used to create extremes of light & dark. The use of a very slight diffusion filter also lends to the softened contrast of a scene for a different type of portraiture. Only our subject is in focus. The lens is set with a wide aperture to soften the distance to the mountains behind her. (I forget the actual settings & shutter speed, however I was well-aware of the desired effects gotten.) It's a monochrome/grayscale composition/image. Enjoy.

I love #NearAndFar, so I had to eventually try its predecessor, #AboveAndBelow. Definitely a keeper! Not only does it look amazing, but it's easy to teach and the little story bits you get when exploring the caves are great! #boardgames
The game table at the end of a 2 player game: rows of building cards for purchase, cave exploration cards, player boards (and tokens of residents and wares on them) and rows of building cards, dice, rulebook and book of encounters. The cave board, which includes new resident tokens to recruit, a space for a cider token, the round track, and the reputation track. Several kinds of building cards for purchase The play area of one player, with the player board (and resident tokens as well as wares) and building cards purchased during the game.

We still haven't tried the campaign in #NearAndFar but it's already great fun in adventure mode! Love Ryan Laukat's art too, it looks so vibrant and fantastic. Such a wonderful game.
