I just noticed: the judge in the explicitly reversed case (Peterson v. Nelnet Diversified Sols., LLC, 400 F. Supp. 3d 1122) - which the brief described completely incorrectly (on page 10) - was one then-Magistrate Judge Nina Y. Wang.

a very funny thing that happened is 1) my loans were sold to something called "NelNet", 2) i started getting notices payment was due in January, 3) i applied for DOE revaluation and 4) ever since it's been "uh, we'll get back to you!" and i think they're finding out the note they bought is worth $0
