#NeowiseComet over Marblehead - we couldn't see it w the naked eye but a 2 sec exposure brought it out! @MAChurgin

Patch tick at @GrafhamWater1 at 23.00hrs last night, with the #NeowiseComet. A magic sight. Supporting cast of Saturn and Jupiter too. And in 23-yrs of birding Grafham Water, this is the first time I've seen the lights-on on the pumping tower by the dam.

Had to wait a while to get things lined up for this one. #NeowiseComet in the evening above Kelly Lake and the @valeglobal Superstack. Iconic @GreaterSudbury skies.

Went out to see the #NeowiseComet after sunset but the cloud cover was just enough to cover everything.

Tried again a few minutes ago and I think it's too low in the horizon to see. Will have to wait till around the 20th probably.

Just north of Hwy 66 outside Longmont might seem like dark skies (relative to being in Longmont), but there is still a lot of light pollution. Despite that challenge the Canon EOS R surprised me with its ability to get a decent shot of NEOWISE.

From these pics it's moving about 70km/s & the bright white centre is about 19,000km across (the rocky core is thought to be only 5km in the middle!

I spotted the #NeowiseComet!

I was also able to spot the International @Space_Station!

With everything happening in the world, it’s comforting to look up at the stars and see the best humanity has to offer blinking back at you.
