All these cybersecurity threats generated by AI remind me of the Blackwall in Cyberpunk 2077.

It is an AI developed to keep other murderous, autonomous AIs out of human-inhabited cyberspace.

Because everyone is a cyborg, these bots are an existential risk.

Blackwall
The Blackwall (or Black Wall)[1] is a firewall developed by NetWatch. Located within the Net, it is tasked with keeping rogue AIs from breaking through into the rest of cyberspace and wreaking havoc. ...

EDGERUNNERS II YAP THREAD (spoilers for both seasons of Edgerunners along with the game ahead):
- Capri fascinates me. As someone who adores the concept of the Blackwall, I'm interested as to how she fits into it. She describes herself as the exact kind of construct that Netwatch made to suppress AI

The event forced netwatch to create the Blackwall, a powerful and deadly AI that blocked access to the old net that was infested with rogue AI and dangerous to anyone who tried to use it.

Thinking a lot about how the release of AI coding agents is causing a similar issue.

A second crash occurs, not aa bad, but it spurs the governments to get together with the megacorps and create Netwatch. The blackwall comes a little while later when in order to stop AI incursions to the large corponets Netwatch enlists/forces an AI to become the blackwall.

Frankie and Vik, being as gifted as they are, attracted Netwatch's eye. Specifically agent Mosely's eye. Appreciating their skills, he hires them under the table to go after threats Netwatch either can't or won't go after

Crazy how Edgerunners S2 will just be Netwatch / Arasaka shit instead of another megacorp like Militech, Biotechnica, Zetatech or SovOil.

anthropic so desperately wants to be Cyberpunk Rache Bartmoss and the DataKrash and ALSO want to be Netwatch to set up and profit from an internet Blackwall
Someone is going to make a fucking killing making "stupid" appliances. Hey- here's a refirgerator that doesn't do jack shit but make things either cold or frozen depending on where you put it. No subscriptions, just cold fucking food.

Anthropic warns AI models could soon copy themselves across home devices
Anthropic's latest research adds to the growing safety concerns around AI from the ability for models to carry out cyberattacks to the technology going rogue.

Going back in time with a NetWatch™️ temporal wetworks team to make sure that Vernor Vinge doesn’t finish True Names

Netwatch approves this message.

GLM 6.0 causes the DataKrash, Anthropic becomes NetWatch after the Choosin Texas singer nukes OpenAI HQ, and a lack of a ready supply of internet cat videos forces everyone to attend underground techno raves in abandoned data centers where they get lead poisoning and become violent criminals
yeah. to be clear, i think that we are running closer to some very bad outcomes than we were a year ago. i do not think that i should have predicted this from the evidence i had a year ago. i think that anyone who thinks they predicted it twelve years is wrong.
Ok so to clarify, you're talking more about arguments about how to avoid the threat, not the threat (or a version of it) itself?
