I've had people come after me on this topic before and argue but one needs to know, that the hegemony of nice and happy and positive if you follow the prescribed roles is already policed by the het cis non neurogivergent ppl who are not immigrants or brown. Please let them do their own work.

Neurotypical people may be unaware but this is a large topic with a huge scope as neurogivergent people face barriers to thriving at every level, from the challenges our minds pose in navigating the world to the obstacles violence & brutality the world meets us with. The situation is mutifaceted.

You're just as valid as any activist who doesn't struggle with housing security with a demonstrated record. Also, you need protection as a vulnerable member of society because you're a neurogivergent Black trans person. It's our social obligation to care for you.

About a month ago I talked about "dead fish eyes" in anime and how they often signal a Neurogivergent character.

Mari does have chatchlight have has notably dark eyes with no discerable distinction between the iris and pupil, unique in the show's art style.

Comparison moments apart:

The neurogivergent urge to buy a fuck ton of fist-sized bean bags and crochet little pillow cases of super soft yarn around them, then crochet all those pillow cases together into a makeshift weighted blanket.

The problem with being neurogivergent, is that when things go wrong with others, you're always left wondering what you did wrong. Was it something I said or didn't say? Something I did or didn't do? Especially when it has nothing to do with you. We find a way to blame ourselves. We feel defective.

So, let me get this right:
1. Masked people claiming to be ICE with no badge or warrant can abduct and disappear people: GOOD?
2. People protesting wearing masks are extremists: BAD?
3. Neurogivergent people are not real humans: GOOD?
4. Due process is an "optional" part of our government: GOOD?

And just a wee note from your speech, most prefer the term neurogivergent as opposed to neurodiverse. Neurodiverse covers everyone, including neurotypical people, e.g. take a neurodiverse group of 10 people 4 are neurodivergent, 6 are neurotypical. Hope that helps and thanks for raising this.
