The opossum is done! Even while studying #art in undergrad, oil painting seemed intimidating Now, 20+ years later I have the courage and curiosity to do it. I’ve learned so much about trusting the process and myself.

I spent my last day of vacation starting a new painting and listening to Edward Rutherford’s epic novel “China”. Painting the opossum was great fun that I’m trying my hand at a hyrax. They’re such derpy little guys and I’m obsessed with their fangs.

I couldn’t figure out how to get the speedpaints murky so I did a base of the washed green, then a purple/white mixture over the green then the green over the purple in some spots. Okay results. #boardgames #newpainter
