Digger despises America. Hates the world it’s shaped, the culture it’s bred, the art it creates, the idea that its self-awareness can redeem it, the general public. Again, this is a group of men in incredibly isolated virtual social spaces that have done nothing but push each other into more deeply nihilistic and self-loathing headspaces since many of them were literally children.

I used to think that it radicalized the right while depressing the left, but I've come to realize that a lot of the RW users are also increasingly nihilistic and often doom and feel helpless to change anything. Don't mistake this as sympathy - people who use that platform do so by choice.

It's the nihilistic idea that if nothing matters, why do anything? When in fact the absence of meaning is space in which we create meaning and build the world we want to inhabit. It's not the end of the line, but the foundation of new construction. You gotta be what you wanna see. We can do that.

"ressentiment" whereby injury becomes the source of moral authority, and an ascetic ideal which makes suffering bearable by devaluing this world in favour of another one (ultimately nihilistic). So one could analytically distinguish two senses of Zionism as a response to historical suffering. /7

This year was my first time reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses books and I read it while season 3 aired. I didn't always keep up with the show because I had more fun reading #ACOTAR. It's just as sexy and violent and full of intrigue as #HotD, but without the nihilistic attitude about people.

At the halfway point of LANTERNS finale. So far, so boring. It’s devoid of almost anything resembling Green Lantern. Just a hyped up crime drama with an occasional alien or actual superhero action scene. A nihilistic shadow of two excellent characters squandered by grief baiting and dull writing.

For a creative work to truly embody our time, it would have to be something loud, incoherent, crassly commercial, relentlessly dumb and utterly nihilistic.
