I got through the Zutomayo Mart line with everything intact! Even though the store was really slow due to traffic. Can't wait to see them in October! #ずっと真夜中でいいのに

An image from “Reijokai”, 1937, taken at the flower garden of the Imperial Palace. The article is about two girls, Lirachan and Nirachan, who have recently returned from a stay in the United States. With them is Shirley Temple.
This historical black-and-white photograph, originally published in the Japanese magazine Reijokai in 1937, captures a charming cultural exchange at the flower garden of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The image features the famous American child star Shirley Temple standing alongside Lirachan and Nirachan, two Japanese girls who had recently returned to Japan following a stay in the United States. Arranged in a tight, triangular group portrait on a grassy lawn, all three young girls are dressed in traditional Japanese attire, providing a fascinating snapshot of international goodwill and cinematic diplomacy during the pre-war era. On the left stands Shirley Temple, recognizable by her signature mass of tight, bouncy ringlet curls. She wears a formal child’s furisode kimono decorated with a bold, large-scale floral pattern featuring expansive peony or chrysanthemum blossoms across the lower skirt and sleeves, accented by stylized stream or cloud lines at the hem. She holds an open, pleated folding fan (sensu) proudly across her chest with both hands and smiles warmly at the camera. On her feet, she wears traditional white tabi socks paired with strapped zōri sandals. Standing on the right and slightly in the foreground is one of her companions, sporting a sleek, sharp bob with straight-cut bangs typical of the period. Her kimono displays a highly intricate, paneled design featuring classic auspicious motifs, including cranes in flight on the obi sash and large circular medallions enclosing stylized fan or floral patterns on the lower skirt. She stands with her hands neatly hidden within her long, flowing sleeves, looking directly forward with a calm, poised expression. Positioned between and slightly behind the two younger girls is the older of the sisters, smiling broadly with a cheerful, open expression. She also features a short, neat bob haircut and is dressed in a elegantly patterned kimono with a classic geometric or checkered block design.
